"Welcome to the Alexandria Campaign on Adolescent Pregnancy web site, AlexGetReal.com. My hope is that Alexandria parents, guardians, mentors, and youth visit our site. For youth, we encourage you to postpone sexual involvement, to talk to your parents/guardians about issues related to sex, love and relationships, and to protect yourself if you decide to become sexually active. For parents, we encourage you to talk with your children and teens often and early about sex, love and relationships and to use our website to find accurate sexual health information, links to other parent-related sites, and tips on communication. Please continue to visit our site for new additions and interactive components. Please tell us what you think!" — Mayor William D. Euille

Alexandria Campaign on Adolescent Pregnancy (ACAP)

ACAP is a coalition of interested citizens, agencies, and community groups dedicated to reducing adolescent pregnancy in Alexandria. Founded on the belief that parents, families and teens themselves play a critical role in preventing adolescent pregnancy, ACAP focuses on positive, holistic solutions that help teens follow their dreams. Adolescent pregnancy is a problem that can be reversed through personal empowerment and self-respect. ACAP is all about making that happen.

We encourage both parents and teens to explore this web site for useful information about love, sex, and relationships. This site offers facts, personal stories, quizzes, and more to help you increase your knowledge about these issues. Additionally, we encourage you to interact with us by listening to our podcasts, watching our videos, engaging in live chat, and asking us questions on the text message line at 703.717.TEEN. You can also call us anytime at 703.684.ACAP.
